A Jacks Life

Sooooo… welcome to my first ever attempt at writing a blog, you will learn quite quickly that I am not very good at it, but I try my best ha-ha. I will start off with an extract from my biography “A Jacks Life” that will be released November 2053:

I got my first guitar when I was 14, a Yamaha ERG121C from Argos for around £170 (I still have it, it’s now covered in stickers with strings on that are 4 years old); it was one of those young phases where I saw something that was cool, bought it, and didn’t touch it again for a year. I had no clue how to play it, and for some reason didn’t even think of taking lessons, all I could string together was a simple blues chord that my dear father taught me, I then continued to play this chord to death.

In May 2005, me and my best mates Jim Daly (guitar) & Mark Daly (bass) decided to form a band, how naïve young minds are eh? I couldn’t tune a guitar let alone play it, and Jim and Mark didn’t even have a guitar or bass. BUT this is where the magical journey began! It wasn’t long before we all had instruments and we began learning songs, I believe that ‘Green Day – Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ was the first song that I ever learned to play on guitar.

The Glass Gods means a heck of a lot to me. I get the chance to play music all over the country with some amazing musicians, and they’ve all become really close mates. I believe that this band has a load of potential and I am really grateful to be a part of it.

Right I think that’s enough for now, you’ve had a little insight into the world that is me! And I shall leave more boring extracts from my life for future blogs. I hope that you enjoyed it, and I promise that I will try and make them more interesting J.

Hopefully see you all at a TGG gig soon!

Look! A Blog!

Splendiiiiiiiid.... got the blog up and running on the site (oh really?)

Hoping all my fellow TGG chappies will put some posts up on here that we can send to the masses and be like 'Oi! Look, I wrote something!'.... yeah... I'm a genius.

But anyways, here's my musings about the band at present :-

Holly is still away on her Florida trip (jealous much) until the end of this week, so we've been taking some time-out from practicing to write new shiz and get one of our new songs playable for when she gets back, tis all going swimmingly :-D

Si is currently one-armed due to an operation he had just over a week ago, but he's healing up nicely and will be on fighting form in no time, and anyway, you'd be surprised just how proficient a drummer can be using only one arm!

So many new tracks on the go, I'm literally losing track of them, the guys in the band reference a new song and I'm thinking of a totally different one, but that's good, just means we have ARSELOADS of material to work on! Wooh! :-D

Until.... some other time, ciao!
